It is important that the client feel that there is a good match between
the project and the company. Similarly, William Morrow Garden Design,
Inc. needs to be sure that the stated goals and objectives are realistic.
William Morrow Garden Design, Inc. is a small firm that devotes a lot
of time and attention to each project to ensure the highest quality
outcome. As a result, we are only able to take on four to six gardens
a year. By doing so, we are able to focus on the gardens that will benefit
the most from the firm's comprehensive approach to garden design.
Hourly rate
$125.00/hour for design development & consultations.
Hours are billed monthly.
Master plan
Master
plans are tailored to the scope of the project. In general, they typically
contain the following elements:
-
A detailed plan drawn to scale.
- An
artist's rendering of the plan in 3D.
- Soil
analysis (pH, nutrients, organic content, etc.)
-
Hardscape materials and pattern specifications, including any water
features
- Plant
list with sizes and quantities
- Photos
of the plants
- Lighting
plan with photos of light fixtures
- Furniture
placement w/photos of furniture options
- Garden
accessories (e.g., antique architectural artifacts, sculpture, etc.)
Depending
on the scope of the project, the number of options developed, and the
number of revisions to design options, master plans can cost anywhere
from $3,500-$5,000, and can take 4-8 weeks to complete. The client owns
the master plan and may hire anyone for the installation.
Installation
Typically, there is about a $100,000 minimum
on installations. Below that amount it is not cost effective for the
client or the firm. Installations can be done on a time & materials
basis or a fixed price contract. William Morrow Garden Design manages
the construction process, obtaining bids for the job, recommending contractors
(e.g., masons, carpenters, electricians, etc,) to build the garden.
William Morrow Garden Design locates and selects the materials, arranges
for deliveries, inspects materials, supervises crews, coordinates the
different subcontractors, keeps the client updated, refines and modifies
the plan as necessary during the construction process, etc.
Furnishings
William
Morrow Garden Design also offers design services to furnish existing

pottery, light fixtures, and outdoor fabrics available only through
designers and architects are priced at the net/trade price plus 20%.
